Ten years have passed ...
...since the founding of IL CONCERTO ACCADEMICO. In this time the whole group of up to 14 string players has been deveolping an intense activity. Their repertoire reaches from Baroque up to contemporary composers and therefore on occasion the group adds collaborate wind and percussion instrumentalists.
The wide range repertoire is a huge demand on the group, as far as style is concerned. A challenge that IL CONCERTO ACCADEMICO is perfectly capable of: the critics have given the group the merit of having “always very personal versions of high uniformity and flexibility of style and artistic effect” (Süddeutsche Zeitung).
IL CONCERTO ACCADEMICO has given concerts all over Spain, and has achieved great success in Germany, France (Festival Gitarrenland) and Morocco. They have accompanied soloists such as the soprano Ana María Sánchez, the cellist Martin Hornstein, guitarists like Carmen María Ros, Ignacio Rodes and Wolfgang Weigel, the organist José Benantzi Bilbao, the pianists Maria Angel Garcia Soria and Jesus Gomez, just to name a few.
The first Spanish orchestra to record “The Four Seasons” by Vivaldi as a live CD for RTVE has been IL CONCERTO ACCADEMICO. And they realized four more CDs with the same label: “Muscia en la Ingenieria” I and II (sponsored for these occasions by the Colegio of Engineers of Murcia and Alicante), “Musica para Salzillo” (supported by the City of Murica), and “Música para don Quijote” (sponsored by the University of Alicante). And in November 2009, they recorded the music “El infierno prometiod” Miguel Franco, music for the film “The Unmaking of” by Chumilla Garbajosa, as well as the participation in the film 'Entre el cielo y el mar' by the same director.
IL CONCERTO Accademico has toured Germany, France, Morocco, Argentina and Uruguay. For this season there is planned a new tour through Southamerica.
